Overview

The most improved chip in the 14th-gen stack, gaining four E-cores over the 13700K for twenty cores and twenty-eight threads at a 5.6GHz boost. That extra multithreaded muscle shows up in rendering and compiles. Turbo runs hot past the 125W base, so budget for strong cooling and a board that can feed it.

    Apply the microcode updates

Been rock solid since I updated the BIOS to the latest microcode. Runs my Premiere timeline smoothly and games great at 1440p.

    Productivity beast, thirsty under load

Pulls serious watts in all-core so a 360 is not overkill. For mixed gaming and compile workloads it is excellent value against the i9.

    Great all-rounder

Slotted into a Z790 Aorus Elite with DDR5 6000 and it has not skipped a beat. High core count for the price is the draw here.

Twenty cores is a lot for the money

The extra four E-cores over the 13700K show up in Handbrake encodes. Keep it on default power limits and a good AIO and it is a workhorse.
