About this unit
The DMG-01 is the original brick Game Boy: a 4.19 MHz Sharp core driving a 160x144 green-grey LCD, the handheld that outsold better-specced rivals for a decade on battery life and library depth. This is a user's unit, not a safe-queen. For someone who wants to actually play and does not flinch at an honest screen.
Condition
Grade C: rough but working, and honest about why. The shell has real wear with scuffs, a lightly cloudy screen cover, and age-appropriate tan. The display carries the classic Game Boy contrast fade and one intermittent vertical line, which does not stop gameplay but is there, documented and priced in. Everything is functional: it boots, runs cartridges, and the sound and link port are confirmed.

Forensic notes
Provenance
US DMG-01 original Game Boy from a house-clearance lot that also held a well-worn Tetris cartridge (not included). No box. The battery compartment is clean with no sign of leakage.
Recap & restoration
No capacitor work required for this design. The contacts and battery terminals were cleaned and deoxidized, and the original screen was retained rather than swapped, so what you see is the real panel (see condition).
Forensic notes
15 photographs and a boot video are on file. Powers on, runs cartridges, and both audio and the link port are confirmed. The display shows the classic Game Boy contrast fade and one intermittent vertical line, documented and priced in.
